Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM) is a common admission test conducted every year for admission into (M.Sc.) and Master of Science other post-graduate science programs at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), (IISc) and National Institutes of Indian Institute of Science Technology(NITs), organized by alternating institutes every year. JAM has been conducted since 2004. The 2021 edition has been organized by I ndian Institute of Science.
As of 2022, the eligibility criteria for JAM include having a bachelor's There is no percentage criteria to apply for the exam. The Foreign degree. candidates can also apply for the JAM Exam after having a qualifying degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) as specified by the Admitting I nstitute should be submitted by September 30, 2022.
The exam is computer based. Seven even Papers are conducted for each respective subject namely mathematical mathematics, physics, chemistry, and was sta tistics, geology, biotechnology economics. Biological science [3]remo ved in 2020 and economics introduced in 2021. The exam is three hours and is conducted only in English. It includes 60 questions, as follows: 30 multiple choice questions (MCQ), 10 multiple select questions (MSQ) and 20 numerical answer type (NAT) questions. Total marks are 100, 50 for MCQ, 20 for MSQ and 30 for NAT. Negative marks are given for mistakes in the MCQ part.
For the Students who are also pursing their graduation and also preparing for IIT-JAM, TIFR, NBHM, DU Entrance etc. We have Weekend Course whose classes are that of 2½ to 3 hours on Saturday second half and 5 hours class on Sunday with one hours lunch break in between.
For those students who can come on any day we have regular programme in which these are 3 hours classes on 3 days and 5 hours class on a day.
Note : For both courses students we have weekly test.
Accommodation facility is available for outstation students (Both Male and Female) with good food. The students should inform us at least seven days in advance with their requirements.
For any genuine reason if you do not qualified the exam, you can join our next batch without paying any further fees and avail all regular facilities.
